Welcome to our first online NEUREKA consortium principal investigators (PI) interviews! This will be the first interview of several to come, where we ask each of the main partners from the NEUREKA consortium to tell us a little bit about their expertise and contribution towards this multi-national, multi-institutional project.
NEUREKA coordinator Yiota Poirazi was recently featured in an interview by the Einstein Foundation Berlin as part of the “Elephants and Butterflies” series.
We are excited to announce the addition of a new member of our team, Dr. Praveena Manogaran, who recently joined NEUREKA on behalf of MaxWell Biosystems. Praveena is Senior Scientist at MaxWell Biosystems and is responsible for conducting scientific collaborative projects, leading R&D experiments to develop bioassays and protocols, scientific dissemination as well as grant acquisition and management.
NEUREKA just concluded its consortium meeting in the facilities of LAAS-CNRS in Toulouse. This was the first meeting to be conducted in vivo, as all the previous meetings except the Kick-off meeting were conducted virtually through teleconference due to the pandemic. The meeting was attended by participants from all the members of NEUREKA and provided a great opportunity to catch up with the progress of each team and resolve any pending issues.
The NEUREKA project was a Featured project in the latest 2021 Impact Report of the European Innovation Council which was recently published. The feature includes a brief statement from Project Coordinator Dr. Yiota Poirazi:

NEUREKA participant Ines Muguet from LAAS/CNRS will present the results regarding the PEDOT:pss coating on the nanoprobes at the Materials Research Society Fall 2021 meeting in Boston.
NEUREKA partners at UNIPD have developed the Synaptor model, which is crucial for calibrating the delivery of stimulation to the cultured neurons in the NEUREKA device.
